Dear esteemed lecturers and participants,

Your health and well-being are of utmost importance to us. In light of the recent COVID-19 outbreak and the DORSCON Orange status, the team at PYTB2020 has put in place these changes:

  1. Hackathon (28 March 2020)
    • Participants are to participate in the hackathon within the compounds of their institutions.
    • Video/live streaming will be utilized for competition training sessions on that day.
    • Mentors will proceed to the respective institutions for direct mentoring of teams.
  2. Semi-Finals/Finals (23 May 2020)
    • Participants will gather in their institutions and pitch live via a live streaming platform. Teams will be informed of their schedule of presentation. Teams will then be shortlisted to participate in a live pitch in the final round.
    • Prize winners will be announced on our website: youngtrailblazers.net within a week, and the prizes will be mailed to them.
  1. On-site visits to the respective industries to understand the problem statement
    • The industry mentors will do a live online tour of the site (where available)
    • Mentors will conduct a live Q&A session online.

If the DORSCON status improves to Yellow 2 weeks before the event (Hackathon/Finals), we will proceed as planned. However, there will be several layers of protection:

  1. Hackathon and Finals
    • Participants, staff and mentors are to submit an online declaration.
    • Participants, staff and mentors are to take their body temperature at the registration counter. Anyone with a temperature of 38oC and above will not be allowed in the building.
    • Equipment like masks and hand sanitizer will be easily accessible.
  1. On-site Visits
    • Mentors will ensure participants’ health and well-being in the industry building.
    • Institutions retain the rights to have their participants do a live online tour instead.
